
Know norovirus

Norovirus is a type of virus in the gastrointestinal disease group
Can spread easily and quickly; can survive in environmental conditions.
Can survive on surfaces or objects for many days.
Can be transmitted through multiple routes.
- Eating undercooked food
- Drinking water contaminated with the virus
- Fresh fruits and vegetables that are not washed properly
- Direct contact with an infected person
- Handling or touching objects contaminated with the pathogen
Symptoms that can be observed
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and possibly a low-grade fever
Headache and body aches/fatigue, with possible internal symptoms
12–48 hours after infection
Make it a habit
- Wash hands using the 7-step method, thoroughly with soap for 20 seconds
- Avoid unclean water and food
- Clean toys frequently
- Patients should avoid cooking food for others to eat
