Endoscopic spine surgery (Endoscopic Spine Surgery)
Dr. Wit Kothiranurak
Endoscopic spine It is a surgery primarily aimed at reducing nerve compression, whether caused by a herniated disc compressing the nerve or spinal canal stenosis, which many people refer to as bone spurs compressing the nerve.
Benefits : It is a surgical procedure with a small incision and is precisely targeted to work on the lesion.
Limitations : Limitations include the lack of widely available instruments and the need for surgical training and expertise to reduce errors and surgical complications.
Indications for surgery
Surgical procedure steps
The patient is given general anesthesia by an anesthesiologist. After that, the surgeon will make an incision approximately 7 millimeters to 1 centimeter in size to insert the camera and surgical instruments.
In general, the surgery takes about 30 to 60 minutes per one spinal level.
Length of hospital stay : Generally, the patient stays one night after surgery, and the patient can get up and walk immediately after surgery.
Recovery: Avoid lifting heavy objects for at least about one month
